It's good to do normal stuff like taxes and Easter dinner. My sisters came over yesterday and one did our taxes and the other two cooked. It doesn't get any better than that.
I have two lunch dates this week. Normal stuff, catching up, jokes, and conversation.
We played the last night of our pool league tonight. It was fun. We missed the last two Mondays. Next Monday is the after-league pizza party. I'm glad I played the league. The people are so nice, my game has improved, and it was fun. Who knew 2 years ago, that I'd be playing on a pool league? It wasn't even in my consciousness. It's fun to try something new.
Make sure that you always have something in your life that is fun. If you don't know what that is yet, go out and explore. Take up pool.

I used to think that a game of pool looked incredibly boring and incredibly easy. I soon learned that it is neither. I also learned that I have absolutely NO aptitude for the game. My brain doesn't process any farther than "hit the ball" in any sport. The other players are usually much better at predicting the trajectory (just ask my golf partners...they know where to and where NOT to stand!). I understand your surprise at finding you have a talent for pool. But looking back, you have always been able to concentrate and focus and look ahead even in the middle of a (paperwork) hurricaine (tornado?). Thank you for reminding me that fun isn't something to be thrown overboard or jettisoned first when the weekly schedule gets crowded...that instead, it deserves it's own special permanent place in our appointment calendars.
Will either of your lunch dates be for a French dip at the Mexican place? Is that still there? Do they still have the same "wait-persons?"
FUN in your daily planner. How profound we have to make an effort for this as adults. Maybe we just need to think like our young puppies. Enjoy the now.
Thank you for sharing that important reminder. Jane, I played pool many moons ago. I didn't know they had leagues.
Jane-
Thank you for sharing this blog of your experience and thoughts with us. It really is a special gift, I will always treasure. You have inspired changes for my life.
I love you and thank you. Michele
I have been thinking and praying for you daily Jane. I plan on sending a more personalized note in the mail to you, but wanted you to know that you are thought of frequently. Much love from your cousin Lori.
Hi Jane,
I was so sorry to hear of your most recent life struggle. It seems life continues to challenge us. I am so glad that you have Michael and your sisters to be there for you and support you. Sisters are truly a blessing. Mine sure helped me in my darkest hours. I will pray for God's love to surround you and give you the strength you need when you need it. Love, cousin Suzy
